NWAS Dispatch Update

You will now be aware that having been rated Number One For Patient Transport In The Northwest we have acquired a large quantity of Northwest Ambulance Service Account work within our dispatch and surround areas.

To ensure that we continue to keep a quality standard to ensure the security of the account we are currently undertaking an allocation process for logistical organisation purposes for our accounts staff and drivers, to ensure the most efficient management of the account.

- We are currently allocating Liverpool bound NWAS work for between the hours of 6am & 9am Monday to Saturday.
- Skelmersdale/ Formby/ Ormskirk and Maghull will be allocated throughout the afternoon by The Accounts Team for the following morning.
- All other bookings (between 6am -9am). The supervisors are calling drivers between 6pm & 8pm the evening before to allocate these jobs.

We are staggering pick up times in order to allocate drivers more bookings, however we have to monitor the times we pick up these patients and the time they arrive to their appointment.

The patient must not arrive to their appointment any earlier than one hour, dialysis patients must not arrive any earlier than 45 minutes. This can also vary on mornings depending on the hospital they are attending, as the unit must be open before the driver leaves the patient.

There is a lot of work in all areas throughout the day, specifically from 11am onwards there is a lot of work coming from Liverpool, Clatterbridge and Broadgreen hospital, if drivers could please make themselves available throughout the day in these areas this would be appreciated.

Throughout the day the jobs will go on the bid screen, if a driver does not accept the job the Team Leader will then allocate to the closest driver or a driver heading in the direction of the booking to give all drivers a fair opportunity to bid on the work themselves.

We would to thank to all drivers who are currently helping to cover these bookings.
